The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the Independence First Christian Church met Wednesday, September 4th, with the incoming Group Leader, Virginia, leading the 19 members in opening with the CWF prayer. Group Secretary/Treasurer, Ernie, presented the minutes from the last meeting, along with the Treasurer’s Report. Both were approved as read.
Cards were signed for 16 members unable to attend regular meetings, followed by Virginia giving the lesson, entitled, “Walking with Angels”. Sara presented a musical program with music and words from Elmo Mercer’s song, “The Way that He loves You”. “Never Alone” was the least coin program and was presented by Linda. The Bereavement Committee reported on the family dinner provided for the King family in late August.
Norma, outgoing Group Leader and current Representative with the Women’s Programs in Kansas, reported that four members of the group have registered to attend the District Women’s Fall Retreat in October and also noted that there is still time to register to attend the program.
The meeting closed in prayer with a reminder of the October 2nd meeting, to be held at 9:30 AM in the Church Parlor with Minnie and Joyce hosting, Marsha giving the lesson, Sara the devotion, and Virginia the least coin.
Salads prepared by each individual followed the meeting, with Shirley giving the blessing for the food. Virginia and Laura were the hosts for today’s event.
All women of the church are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings of CWF.
