The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the First Christian Church of Independence welcomed 56 women from SE Kansas and Topeka to Spirit Fest Saturday, the 13th of April. Kansas Disciples Women on a Mission presented the program to refresh, rejuvenate and renew, and to experience the opportunity to study, worship and fellowship with women across the region. Eight program leaders arrived in Independence Friday evening to set up for the 8:30 AM Saturday registration and brunch with workshops until the midday lunch, provided by the Independence Christian Women’s Fellowship, and then continued workshops. The Independence Chamber of Commerce was helpful with this event by contributing very nice “Welcome to Independence” informational goodie bags, which were given to every guest.
