CWF Corner

The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the Independence First Christian Church met Wednesday, June 6th, at the rural home of Blaine and Norma and enjoyed a cookout hosted by the them.  Blessing of the food was given by Wilma.  Outside dining was enjoyed by 24 members, followed by the reading of correspondence and the Treasurer’s Report .  Nineteen cards were signed, to be mailed to those unable to attend today’s luncheon.

In a brief business meeting, a change in the CWF By Laws was approved to rename the “Mother/Daughter Banquet” to “Celebration of Women”.  Officers for the 2018-2019 year were approved and will remain the same as for the current year.

A short lesson was provided by Barbara from “The Angel Book”, with the least coin presented by Virginia from “Angel Army” by Bo Bryant.  She also read the poem, “He Asks So Little and Gives So Much.”  Laura brought the devotion from “God’s Will”, with verses from the Book of Romans.

There will be no meetings in July or August.  The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 6th, and will be the start of the group’s new year.  New CWF membership books will be available at that time.

The group dismissed with the CWF prayer.
