CWF Corner

The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the Independence First Christian Church met Wednesday, the 4th of April, with 18 members present.  Hosting the spring meeting were Ethel and Mary.

Norma, group leader, led the group with the opening prayer and then updated the group on how the least coin is used in women’s groups.

Minutes from the March meeting and the Treasurer’s Report were presented by Secretary/Treasurer, Ernie.  “Thinking of You” cards were signed for the 19 members unable to attend today’s meeting.

Final plans were discussed for the May 2nd Mother/Daughter Celebration (celebration of mothers).  All were asked to bring a mother, daughter, mother figure, or friend, along with a salad to go with the fried chicken, drinks and homemade pie that will be provided.  The setup crew will meet at 9:30 a.m. and consists of Mary, Joyce, Ethel and Norma.  Serving on the cleanup crew will be Wilma, Virginia and Sue.

As a group, CWF plans to participate, along with other members of First Christian Church, in the upcoming “Love Independence Day” on April 28th.

The new CWF yearbook will soon be available for the group’s coming year of 2018-2019.  Signup for participation in the monthly events is now in progress.

The lesson, “Heart and Home” from In Touch was presented by Virginia, with devotions from Connie from “Footprints in the Sand”, and the least coin from Laura from “Heart and Soul – Country Prayer.”

Upon being dismissed in prayer, reminders were noted of the Mother/Daughter Celebration on May 2nd at 6 p.m., which will include a short program with tributes to all mothers.  Also, in June, we will all go to Norma’s residence for a cookout.
