I often wonder how many of us stop and think what Thanksgiving is all about. We go to a lot of trouble to fix a big dinner and have a lot of guests. We worry about every little thing being just right — good china and silver — but what about the real meaning of Thanksgiving? I cannot help but wonder… Do we really realize what this day should mean for us?
It’s something to think about, especially at this time. We have so much to be thankful for and, yet, we sometimes do not really see the good things the LORD has given us, or are not even thankful for them. I remember the title of an old song called, “Little Things Mean A Lot.” We often overlook even the little things that are God-given and wait for the “big things” we expect from God.
Let us rejoice and be glad. (Psalm 118:25)
