CWF Corner

Eighteen members of the Christian Women’s Fellowship of the First Christian Church met Wednesday, the 3rd of November, with Connie Tucker and Vivian Tucker hosting the event.

Leader Norma Babb opened the meeting and led the group in the CWF prayer.  She then asked for the Minutes and Treasurer’s Report from Secretary/Treasurer Ernie Cain.  Birthdays were celebrated for Laura Sullivan and Nana Cotner.  Cards were signed for 17 members ill or unable to attend, and upcoming events were discussed and committees set up for the following events:  Fall bazaar, CWF-sponsored Christmas Tasting Tea to be held Sunday, December 3, and the CWF soup luncheon/white elephant gift exchange to be held at the next meeting on the 6th of December.

Discussion was held regarding Blessing Box money and Least Coin money.  We voted to keep the Least Coin money local and, for this year, to add it to the funds we give to the schools for assistance with the Jessica program and perhaps the lunch program that is being looked into.

Virginia Housel presented the lesson, entitled, “Enough Is A Feast”.  Ethel Landis provided the Least Coin on “What Is the Least Coin?”  Laura Sullivan provided Devotions from “God’s Message”.

December program:  Lesson by Ernie Cain; Devotions from Marsha King; Least Coin by Virginia Housel; Hostesses will be Judy Jewers and Virginia Housel.

The group was reminded of the December 6th meeting, which will be a soup luncheon with a white elephant gift exchange at 11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall.  Vivian Tucker, Virginia Housel, Minnie Sumner, Barbara Hallett and Connie Tucker will provide the six different kinds of soup.

The group was dismissed in prayer.
