The Pastoral Relations Committee will meet on Sunday, October 29, during the Sunday School hour.

On Sunday, October 29, FCC will observe Heritage Sunday with an old-fashioned Worship Service and old-style preaching.  A potluck meal will be served following Sunday School.  Please bring a dish according to the first letter of your last name.  A-G: Pie;  H-O: Some type of bean dish; P-Z: Cornbread or other condiment.

Open Arms Diner will be closed Tuesday, October 31.

The Open Arms Fundraiser Dinner originally scheduled for Tuesday, October 24, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, November 14, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm.  If you would like to provide a sheet cake for this event, please deliver it to the Fellowship Hall by Noon that day.

A congregational meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 5, in the Sanctuary following the Worship Service.  The purpose of this meeting is to approve the 2018 Budget and elect 2018 Church Officers.

Pastor Mark will be filling in at Crystalbrook Church on Wednesday mornings (probably through Thanksgiving) for Pastor Dick while he recovers from knee surgery.  This is a chapel service, from 9 – 10 am every Wednesday, and all are welcome.

Printing frequency of The Independence Christian is being reduced to once a month.  That means this will be the final issue for October, and beginning with the November issue, it will be distributed on the third Thursday of each month.  Therefore, the next Newsletter will come out on Thursday, November 16.

We are beginning to plan 1-day Bargain Trip Excursions for 2018, and we need your ideas.  If you have any suggestions regarding day trips you would like to make, please contact Judy, Phyllis or the Church Office
