CWF Corner

Seventeen members and one guest of the Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF) of the First Christian Church met Wednesday, January 4, with Marsha King and Luella Lovelace hosting the event.

Group leader Norma Babb opened the meeting, leading the group in prayer and then calling for the Minutes and Treasurer’s report from the December meeting.  Discussion was held on the upcoming Mother/Daughter Banquet with committees to be set up for planning.  An expenditure for food for the “Bright Christmas”, recently held in the Church Fellowship Hall, was approved for payment.  About 100 children and parents were fed at that event.  “Thinking of You” cards were to be mailed to 13 members unable to attend today’s meeting.

Darlene Huffaker provided the lesson, “Lord What are You Doing Next Tuesday?” from the book by Anna B. Dukes.  Devotions, entitled “What Time Is It?” were given by Luella Lovelace, with the least coin, “The Lost Penny” by Marsha King.

Closing with prayer, a reminder was given that the next meeting will be Wednesday, February 1, at 9:30 AM in the Church Parlor with Judy Jewers and LaDella Lyon hosting, Shirley Padley giving the lesson, Ernie Cain the devotion, and Linda Hatfield the least coin.

All women of First Christian Church are welcome to be a part of CWF.
