Twenty-four members of the Christian Women’s Fellowship of the First Christian Church met Wednesday, the 7th of December, with Ethel Landis and Laura Sullivan hosting. Various members provided the soup for the 6-soup luncheon event, with Shirley Padley giving the prayer prior to the meal.
Group Leader Norma Babb opened the short business meeting, calling for the Minutes and Treasurer’s report of the November meeting. Judy Jewers gave the Blessing Box prayer. The funds from this yearly project are to be given to Jessica Goza during the service on Sunday, the 11th of December, to distribute to students and families of the junior high school in need of some holiday assistance.
Fifteen Christmas cards were signed and will be mailed to those unable to attend. Members approved a monetary gift be given to our Church Secretary in our appreciation of her. The least coin offering was taken as Ethel Landis shared “The Christmas Story” from Luke, followed by devotions by Laura Sullivan, “Make Room for God” by Billy Graham. Following dismissal of the meeting, the group held their “White Elephant” gift exchange.
Closing in prayer, the group was reminded of the Wednesday, January 4th meeting, to be held in the Church Parlor at 9:30 AM. Luella Lovelace and Marsha King will be hosting, Darlene Huffaker will have the lesson, Luella Lovelace the devotions, and Marsha King the least coin.
