Ponytails for Cancer

Pittsburg State students, led by Sara Huffaker, a senior PSU nursing student from Overland Park, is organizing a ponytail donation drive that will take place on February 4, 2017.  Hair donations will support the American Cancer Society and must be at least 8 inches in length.  This donation drive is being conducted by the Pittsburg State chapter of the Kansas Association of Nursing Students (KANS).

So, if you have long hair and are thinking about cutting it, try to wait until February when your hair can be used to make wigs for cancer patients.

The donation drive is scheduled to take place from 10 AM to 1 PM on February 4 at McPherson Hall, home of Pitt State’s Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing.  Your hair will be cut by professionals from Pittsburg’s Wild Side Salon.

Ms. Huffaker has donated her own hair every 2 years since she was in the 4th grade.  For more information, go to “Pitt State Kans” on Facebook.
