The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the First Christian Church met Wednesday, the 5th of October, with Norma Turner and Mary Sherwin hosting the group of 18 members and 3 guests. Group Leader Norma Babb opened the meeting and led the group in prayer.
Minutes of the September meeting and Treasurer’s report were read and approved, cards were signed for 12 shut-ins, correspondence was read, and thanks was given to all who assisted with the Marilyn Blex service and bereavement dinner.
Following a short business meeting, Ethel Landis, as the lesson leader, introduced Chris Mitchell, Director of Home, Sweet, Home. Chris has been the Director for 3 years and presented an overview of happenings at our church-sponsored shelter for men, ending his program with a song he wrote entitled, “Only A Mother Knows”.
The devotion, “Surrender Your Burdens”, from The Secret Place was presented by Laura Sullivan. Ernie Cain gave the least coin by telling of her “cookie disaster”. Guests for the day were LaDella Lyon, Mark Lyon, and Marcia Carvalho.
Hosts for the November 2nd meeting will be Norma Babb and Virginia Housel. Wilma Andrews will bring the lesson. Judy Jewers will have the devotion, and Virginia Housel will provide the least coin.
The group dismissed, reciting in unison the CWF Prayer.
