The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the First Christian Church met Wednesday, the 14th of September, with Judy Jewers and Norma Babb hosting the group of 20. Group Leader Norma Babb opened the meeting, and Shirley Padley led the group in prayer. A salad luncheon with fried chicken on the side was enjoyed by the group prior to the meeting.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved, as was the Treasurer’s Report. Discussion was held on changes in the church wedding policy and then held over until our next meeting for input from the Church Board. A donation of $200.00 was approved to be paid to the Kansas Christian Women’s Fellowship. Twelve cards were signed and mailed to the ill and shut-ins. It was noted that the drapes in the Parlor had been cleaned, mended and rehung. Approval was given to add Judy Jewers’s name as an additional signer on the bank account for issuing funds, with only one signature required.
The lesson, “On Track with God” was given by Judy Jewers. Laura Sullivan gave the devotion, “God’s Theater”. Lu Lovelace had the least coin, “Change Happens.”
Hosting the October 5th meeting will be Mary Sherwin and Norma Turner. Ethel Landis will provide the lesson, Laura Sullivan the devotion, and Minnie Sumner the least coin.
