CWF Corner

The Christian Women’s Fellowship of First Christian Church, Independence met Wednesday, November 4th, with Sue and Vivian hosting the 20 members in attendance.

Group Leader Virginia led those present in opening with the CWF prayer and then called on Secretary/Treasurer Ernie for the reading of the October Minutes and Treasurer’s Report, which were approved as read.

Twenty Thanksgiving cards were signed by all attendees to be mailed to those unable to attend today’s meeting.  Also noted, the group mailed a birthday card to Thelma S, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday.

LaDella brought the lesson in the form of a sing-a-long, with songs of praise and thanksgiving, followed by Marsha with devotions from the book of Psalms and “Morning from Jesus”.  Darlene presented the least coin, answering questions regarding what the fellowship of the least coin is.

The group was reminded that Blessing Boxes are due to be turned in at the December 2nd meeting, at which time the announcement will be made as to the program that will be receiving the Blessing Box funds for the year 2020.

The December 2nd meeting will be a Christmas celebration with a soup luncheon hosted by Sara, with the lesson by Norma, devotion by Laura and 5 soups provided by Sue, Virginia, Darlene, Norma and Danielle.  Desserts will be coordinated by Sara.

Also featured at the December meeting will be the group’s annual white elephant gift exchange, which has always been a main feature of the Christmas soup luncheon.  The group will meet at 11:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall on December 2nd with current COVID-19 guidelines still in place.
