CWF Corner

The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the First Christian Church, Independence met Wednesday, the 7th of October, with Darlene and Virginia hosting.

Virginia, as group leader, opened the meeting and led the 15 members present in the CWF prayer.  She then called on Secretary/Treasurer Ernie for the reading of the minutes and Treasurer’s Report from September.  Eighteen fall-related cards were prepared by Sue and signed by all attendees to be mailed to those unable to attend today’s meeting.

Marsha presented the lesson on “Church Family”, taken from Billy Graham and followed by an entertaining program of “The Tater Family”, using decorated Irish potatoes as various family members and their roles in the church family.  Lu gave the devotion with “Love out Loud”, followed by Virginia with the least coin from “Rooted in Love”.

November hostesses will be Sue and Vivian, with Phyllis bringing the lesson, Marsha the devotion, and Darlene the least coin.

Refreshments were served by the hostesses.  The meeting was adjourned in prayer with the reminder of the November 4th meeting at 9:30 AM to be held in the Fellowship Hall in compliance with COVID-19 guidelines.
