Hello Friends,

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer, petition and thanksgiving, present your request to God.  And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 4:6-7)

Yes, these are exciting times in which we live.  Let us be thankful and grateful that as a community, as a society, as a collective group, we have pulled together, we have worked tighter, and we have all done our part in contributing to the suppression of the invisible enemy known as the corona virus.

Now that our community has a better grasp and understanding of the cares and concerns behind this virus outbreak, our state Governor has instituted a course of action which all businesses, clubs and churches must follow as they begin to reopen and re-resurrect their services.  As of today, all community assemblies are to maintain gatherings of 10 or less participants.  Beginning May 31st, that number increases to 30 for those who may gather for a community event.

Therefore, in order to follow our state-mandated guidelines, First Christian Church will continue TO BE CLOSED for Sunday public worship through the month of May.

WE WILL CONTINUE TO BROADCAST A WEEKLY SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE ON FACEBOOK at www.facebook.com/fccindependence and on YOU TUBE at First Christian Church, Independence, KS.
