Election of Class Officers (Reprint)
A while back, it was time for us to have an election for Sunday School class officers. This is quite a process. First, we ask for volunteers to accept each position, and then, with no volunteers, we ask different individuals who we think might say, “Yes”. When we still don’t have any takers, we try bribery. I’m not sure how, but we do finally get a President.
Coming up next is the position of Secretary/Treasurer. That has been my job for several years and, not being shy, I accepted the position before anyone else had a chance to come forward.
That left us with the position of Collector. Now, Collector is a responsible position, and we have had a good one recently. She does not just pass the collection plate around; she actually takes it to each person and stands there until they drag out their wallet and make a donation. By mutual consent, she was elected once again. I love honest elections.
We have a great Sunday School Class and welcome new members. Visit us, and if you’re lucky, you may be elected as a class officer next year.
