The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the Independence First Christian Church met Wednesday, the 8th of January, with Marsha and Laura hosting the event.
Group leader Virginia led the 22 members in opening with the CWF prayer and then called on Secretary/Treasurer Ernie for the Minutes and Treasurer’s Report from the December meeting; both were approved as read.
Guest speaker for the meeting was Susan with Community Access Center, and her program was an informative, informational meeting on “Moving Forward with Momentum”. This program meets in the First Christian Church Parlor each Tuesday after Open Arms Dining and 3 days a month on other dates.
“Thinking of You” cards were signed by each attendee, to be sent to 16 members who are unable to attend regular meetings. Christmas correspondence was read, and discussion was held on visitation to nursing homes and homebound members.
Darlene presented an interesting lesson entitled, “All Cooked Up” using 4 kinds of real potatoes and ending the lesson with her personal thoughts on New Year’s Resolutions. Darlene also gave the least coin program with “Reach Out” from Mother Teresa. Marsha brought the devotions with “New Year’s Day” from Mornings with Jesus.
Closing with prayer, the group was reminded of the February 5th meeting, to be held at 9:30 AM in the Church Parlor with hostesses Luella and Ernie, the lesson from Marsha, least coin from Virginia and devotions from Laura.
