The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the Independence First Christian Church met Wednesday, November 6th, with Sara, Danielle and Sue hosting.
Group Leader Virginia led the 22 attendees in opening with the CWF prayer. Ernie presented the minutes and the Treasurer Report from the October meeting, with both approved as read.
The individual Blessing Boxes are to be turned in December 4th, which will allow the group to send $500.00 to the Independence Middle School for distribution to students and families in need of some holiday assistance. Member and teacher Jessica will be our liaison in this program again this year.
We were also reminded to bring the “Best Choice” labels to be mailed in as a part of the fundraiser for the year.
Thanksgiving cards were signed by each attendee for 15 members who are unable to attend regular meetings.
Norma, Sue, Vivian and Danielle each gave reports on the Kansas Disciples Women’s Retreat held in October and for plans to attend the next retreat.
The lesson was presented by Wilma and taken from a variety of texts with titles, “Wisdom from Our Fathers”, “Prayers God Always Answers” and “The Box”. Devotions were given by Ernie, entitled, “Out of Sight”, and the least coin was provided by Norma from “Serving Others, God’s Inspirational” and “What Is Least Coin”.
The annual churchwide Tasting Tea will be on December 1st, with the Christian Women’s Fellowship hosting the event. The regular meeting of the group will be on December 4th, with a soup luncheon held in the Fellowship Hall, along with a white elephant gift exchange. Hosting the December 4th meeting will be Linda and Phyllis. Phyllis will provide the lesson, Laura will give the devotion, and Luella will have the least coin.
