CWF Corner

Eighteen members of the Christian Women’s Fellowship of the First Christian Church of Independence met Wednesday, the 2nd of January, with Luella and Ernie hosting the event.

Group Leader, Norma, led the group in the CWF prayer and then called on Secretary/Treasurer, Ernie, for the Minutes from the December meeting and the current Treasurer’s Report, also reporting the yearlong blessing boxes and least coin funds collected in December totaled $515.58.

Christmas cards and correspondence were read from many, along with thank you letters from Heifer International (for the group donation to assist a foreign family with the purchase of a cow or other life supporting animal) and a letter of appreciation from the principal of the Independence Middle School for the group’s $500 donation that will assist students in need.

Seventeen cards were signed and mailed to members unable to attend the group meeting.

Ethel presented the lesson, entitled, “It is Well with My Soul”, with Minnie bringing the devotion from “Women of God”, and Phyllis giving the least coin, entitled, “Acts of Kindness” from Chicken Soup for the Soul.

The group will meet Wednesday, the 6th of February, at 9:30 AM.  Virginia and Marsha will be hosting; Marsha will provide the lesson; Laura the devotion; and Joyce P. the least coin.

All women and guests of First Christian Church are invited to attend.
