Easter And Remembering

I once asked my two grown daughters what they remembered most about Easter.  Immediately, one of them reminded me of the year they had to wear “those dresses”, one of them blue and the other one pink.  Yes, I remember those; I had lovingly made them myself.

Laughing, they also told me of the year they made a huge mess coloring Easter eggs.  I remember that, too.

Then, they reminded me of when we went to Riverside Park and took pictures in front of those 5- or 6-foot tall Easter bunnies.  Sometimes, we had to wait in line to get that done.  Then, of course, we had to attend the Easter egg hunt held at the park.

I began to wonder… Did they remember Easter church services and the real meaning of Easter?  “Yes,” they said.  “Of course, we do, but looking back to our childhood, other things come to mind – childish things.”

From Proverbs 22:6, I got the answer.  “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

God’s blessing to you at this time of renewal.
