CWF Corner

The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the First Christian Church met Wednesday, the 4th of April, with Norma Babb and Mary Sherwin hosting the event.  Group Leader Norma Babb led the attending 19 members by  opening with the CWF prayer and then calling for the reading of the March Minutes and Treasurer’s Report, which was done by Secretary/Treasurer Ernie Cain.

With election of new officers coming up, discussion was held, and it was decided and voted on to hold over the present officers for the upcoming year.  As next year’s CWF books are being finalized, assignments were made as to lessons, devotions and least coin leaders for the coming year.  Sixteen cards were signed and made ready to mail to those unable to attend today’s meeting.

Note was made of the cleaning of the Prayer Wall, and volunteers were asked to assist with the cleaning of the silver serving pieces owned by the church.

The lesson, “The Woman at the Well”, was given by Marsha King, devotions by Judy Jewers, entitled, “A Great Deal in Disaster”, and the least coin, “Children of the World”, was presented by Connie Tucker.

Our May meeting will be our annual Mother/Daughter Banquet salad supper on May 3rd, to be held in the Fellowship Hall.  Fried chicken and dessert will be provided, as well as a short program honoring our mothers.

We dismissed in prayer and, as a group, attended the Lenten service in the Chapel, followed by a light meal prepared by Virginia Housel.
