I Remember When

Coming into the First Christian Church as a member in 1968, it was amazing to me to find entire families sitting together in “their pews”.  Being from a large family myself, I particularly noticed the Tucker family of nine.  Seven children with the late Carl and wife, Connie.

The Tuckers filled their pew, and sometimes two, as the children grew, married, had children of their own and then scattered to their new homes in different areas.

This all came back to me one Wednesday a few weeks ago as we attended the Lenten Wednesday service that included a soup luncheon.  The volunteer cook of the week was Connie Tucker.  Assisting her were several of her grandchildren, including one small great grandchild, and her daughter-in-law Karen Tucker.

Yes, I remember when… And what a blessing it was to see this extended family together in the service of our Lord!
