CWF Corner

The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the First Christian Church met Wednesday, the 1st of March, with Virginia Housel and Laura Sullivan hosting the event.  Group leader, Norma Babb, led the attending 21 members and 1 guest (Roger Cotner), opening with the CWF prayer, then calling for the reading of the minutes and Treasurer’s Report from last month’s meeting by Secretary/Treasurer Ernie Cain.

Program plans were finalized for the upcoming Mother/Daughter Banquet.  A salad supper with fried chicken will be the event’s meal.  The talent for the banquet has been selected.

We were reminded to save our “Best Choice” labels, which are used as a fundraiser each year.  Virginia Housel, Correspondence Secretary, presented 15 cards for signing, ready to mail to those members unable to attend our regular meetings.

The lesson, from Acts 16, was given by Judy Jewers.  Mary Sherwin gave the devotion from the book, The Lord Bless You and Keep You, with Luella Lovelace bringing the least coin, “Slipping through my Fingers” from The Daily Bread.

Adjourning early, as a group, we attended the Ash Wednesday service, followed by a luncheon provided by LaDella Lyon.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, April 5th, at 9:30 AM in the Church Parlor with Mary Sherwin and Norma Babb hosting, Marsha King providing the lesson, Judy Jewers the devotion, and Connie Tucker the least coin.
